Shin Kim is an actor from South Korea whose early discovery of theatre shaped his professional path. After moving to Oregon at the age of 15, what began as high school curiosity quickly evolved into a calling. This led him to pursue formal training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City, and he later earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Shin has performed in a diverse range of productions across the United States, building a versatile foundation in both musical theatre and dramatic acting. His work is characterized by a commitment to truthful storytelling and a deep-seated curiosity about the complexities of human behavior.
Throughout his training, however, Shin noticed a troubling trend: a significant lack of Asian representation within the industry. This realization became a cornerstone of his artistic voice, fueling his desire to tell stories that broaden audience perspectives. He is dedicated to carving out a space for underrepresented voices and contributing to a more inclusive, dynamic theatre landscape—one where artists of all backgrounds are authentically seen, heard, and valued.
